Gormless George

Galloway’s obviously been spouting some remarkably idiotic drivel – well, his entire career, but in this instance since his emerging from the Big Brother programme – but this really says everything. From the BBC News story:
‘Asked if he had been “naive” in thinking he would be given a platform for his views, he said: “I have been accused of many things in my life but naivety is not one of them”.‘
Um.

Frankly, I’m disappointed that you’re continuing this obsessive personal vendetta rather than complaining about the fact that he WAS politically censored. Apparently almost every time he raised the subject his voice was overdubbed. What next, having his words read out by an actor on News At Ten?

It was clearly stated at the beginning of the programme that this would be the case.
Plus, it would have been against broadcast guidelines to do anything else.
I think it would have been much funnier if they’d played birdsong every time he said anything at all.
It should be noted that I did not see a single second of this programme.
And “personal vendetta” is a bit of an odd term.

Against broadcast guidelines my arse. When did you last see anyone called up to give the opposing side of the argument when the BPI were whining on about filesharing, say?

There aren’t rules about that for broadcast! You aren’t allowed to present a one-sided political presentation. You have to demonstrate that you are broadcasting all parties’ views equally, which they obviously wouldn’t be.

On a reality show? Cobblers.

No, the broadcasting laws. Look it up.
“Peter Bazalgette, UK chairman of programme makers Endemol, told BBC One’s This Week that Channel 4 had to abide by strict rules on broadcasting political opinions without opposing views to balance them.”

He sure does sound like a reliable witness!
