The page the BBC have stopped linking to now.
“As [the suspect] got onto the train I looked at his face, he looked sort of left and right, but he basically looked like a cornered rabbit, a cornered fox. He looked absolutely petrified and then he sort of tripped, but they were hotly pursuing him, [they] couldn’t have been any more than two or three feet behind him at this time and he half tripped and was half pushed to the floor and the policeman nearest to me had the black automatic pistol in his left hand. He held it down to the guy and unloaded five shots into him.”
“Everyone who was on the platform was just running from one end of the platform down to the exit as quickly as possible.”

Unrelated, but I’ve linked to here from our blog, since we all enjoy you’re ramblings, and Brian’s Guide kept us amused for weeks. Hope you don’t mind.

The response to this does seem a little…muted, I suppose. The family are making the expected noises, some parts of the media are reporting it as you would expect, yet there is the distinct impression that it’s all rather half-hearted; no-one wants it to become a thing. In part because it’s an unwelcome interruption to their Blitz Spirit cycle, and in part because it’s a trickier one to cover – less easy, more complicated an issue than they want to put to their viewers and readership. I also would expect the Govt. to put some behind-the-scenes pressure on, but this time I don’t think they need to work that hard at it. And that’s an absolute disgrace.
